User-assisted Commissioning Calls at ELI Beamlines

The ELI Beamlines user facility invites the scientific community to submit proposals for commissioning experiments of the P3 - Plasma Physics platform in its E3 Experimental Hall and the ELIMAIA Ion Beam Transport section in its E4 Experimental Hall.

The aim of this commissioning call is
to make use of available experimental configurations, targetry and diagnostic setups to initiate the first high-level user experiments, to implicate the potential user community to participate in future upgrades, and to provide expert advice and training to scientific & engineering staff, administrative support staff (user office) and support teams to optimize user operation for the upcoming joint ELI ERIC User Campaign.

The ELIMAIA (ELI Multidisciplinary Applications of laser-Ion Acceleration) Ion Beam Transport section will offer future open-access experiments on laser-plasma ion acceleration and applications in radiobiology, chemistry, material science, archaeology, nuclear physics, etc. The infrastructure of the E3 Experimental Hall serves experiments in the context of high-power laser-matter interaction.

The commissioning experiments will take place between Autumn 2022 and Spring 2023.

The details of the P3 infrastructure and the ELIMAIA E4 calls are available by clicking on the links.

Proposals are accepted from around the world, are evaluated by an international panel of experts and accepted based on scientific merit. Proposers are invited to contact the User Office with technical questions: user.office@eli-beams.eu.
